Hello!
Happy September, everybody!
The month sure started with some drama, as 9" or so rain fell as the remains of Hurricane Harvey passed over the region. There was some minor crop damage and some typical soil runoff problems, but seems like most farms were spared any major damage. Thankfully!!
We’ve got a great selection this week!! A new selection of late season tomatoes, lots of delicious greens, peppers of all kinds, from sweet to hot! As well as some new varieties of winter squash and lots of great potatoes! Also, don’t let the season end without some more watermelon!! The watermelon and cataloupebare found under the Fruits section of the Market page.
Look to our other vendors to round out the great selection. Wedge Oak Farm has a new Artisan Sausage – mild Italian chicken sausage. Did you know all their artisan sausages are recipe tested and hand made in the commercial kitchen right there on the farm? Pretty cool!
The Bloomy Rind has a large variety of select cheese this week!

Hello!
Its a beautiful week of produce! This is a great time of year, as late summer turns into autumn. These times of year have a great diversity of produce, some of the best of the year! Warm season crops like squash, cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes overlap with cooler temp loving crops like greens. We’ve also got lots of hearty foods like potatoes, winter squash, and beans this week!
Now is really the time to enjoy all the abundance our local farms offer!
We have a good selection of items as we head into winter, but the variety gets less.
Bear Creek Farm has done special items up so make sure you check them out. First is their 1892 Burger, which is an exclusive blend of chuck short rib and brisket, blended fresh this week!
Also check out their 4H lamb, which help support 4H programs in Middle Tennessee. You can find their selection under Bear Creek 4H Lamb on the Market.
Wedge Oak Farm always has a great selection of their artisan sausages, blended right there on their farm in their brand new commercial kitchen! And their chicken is just the best around!

So far, so good on this August weather! The crops and the farmers are liking it a lot! We know August is a time of transition – returning from vacations, getting back to a school schedule, maybe returning to a normal routine after a hectic summer! We look forward to having you back with us again! We’ve always got lots of great veggies and other food items to share with you!
This week we have tons of beautiful peppers of all colors and shapes. The first greens of the late summer season. Still some melons available as well – watermelon and cantaloupe!
If you are missing the blueberries, try some blueberry syrup made by our organic blueberry farmer, Blue Honey Farm!

Hello!
We are loving these cooler days! Pretty strange weather for a Tennessee August, but we’ll take it!
We have some new veggies this week- the greens are back with our first kale harvest! Also, give sweet potato greens a try ! There are watermelons this week in the “fruits” section- don’t miss out on those before they are gone! We’ve got a lovely selection of peppers as well. The tomatoes have mostly fizzled out for now until our next round is ready- hopefully you are getting enough now out of your own gardens!
Did you try The Bloomy Rinds pimento cheese last week? It’s delicious ! If you haven’t tried it yet, you’ve got another chance this week.
