Kohlrabi Sauteed with Onions and Cream

From Tally and John (May 6, 2011): “Did you know we are trendy? The June issue of Martha Stewart has a piece on kohlrabi! and calls it a great ‘farm-stand find’! [This recipe] is delicious and comes from there, but if anybody reads the magazine and tries the ‘kohlrabi chips,’ let us know!”

1 bulb kohlrabi, peeled and cut into cubes      View Available Products
finely sliced kohlrabi leaves      View Available Products
1 white onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 splash heavy cream
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1 pinch nutmeg

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Cook cubes of kohlrabi and sliced onion in the butter over medium high heat until almost tender.
  2. Stir in kohlrabi leaves, and cook until wilted.
  3. Add a splash of heavy cream, and cook for a few seconds to reduce.
  4. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
